A dental implant looks similar to a small screw that is made from titanium. Its purpose is to form the root of your new tooth. Once placed within the jawbone, its biocompatible structure fuses with the bone to deliver maximum support to your custom dental crown, bridge, or denture. Its ability to provide root-to-crown replacement makes it far superior and unlike any other prosthetic – just one of the many unique benefits of dental implants.
The 4-Step Dental Implant Process
Initial Dental Implant Consultation – A scheduled consultation with Dr. Navneet is essential so that she can discuss your oral and overall health as well as the density of your jawbone. She will decide if you need oral surgery or gum disease treatment to address any existing dental issues.
Dental Implant Surgery – Skilled in placing dental implants, Dr. Navneet will perform your oral surgery in-house so that you can remain among familiar faces and experience a more convenient form of dental care.
Dental Implant Osseointegration/Abutment – After your surgery, you will spend time recovering at home and allowing the osseointegration process, which can take 4-6 months, to complete. This is when your implant(s) will fuse with your jawbone. Once you’re fully healed, you will have your metal abutments attached so that your custom restoration will remain firmly in place.
Delivery of Dental Implant Restoration(s) – The last step of the process is to have your newly designed crown, bridge, or denture attached to your implant post(s). You will then be able to start enjoying life with your new and improved smile.
